It is with deepest sadness the family of Gerald (Gerry) Edward Kupser announce his passing on November 14, 2018 at the age of 74. Gerry was predeceased by his mother and father, Katherine and Fred Kupser. He is survived by his loving wife Janice; his son Kerry, daughter-in-law Dawn, grandchildren Maddison, Hunter and Ethan, daughter Sheri, grandchildren Paige and Hayden; extended family Patti, John, Justin and Jessica. He is also survived by a brother Arnold, sister-in-law Flora, sister Dolores, brother-in-law Garry, brother-in-law Wayne (Julia), sister-in-law Carelyn (Ben deceased), sister-in-law Joanne (Bruce); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and very close dear friends.
Gerry was born in Wilkie Sk. He started his careers at the age of 17, working for the CPR, CKSA Television station in Lloydminster SK/AB. He moved to Port Alberni in 1966 and began working at APD, then in 1978, he joined the team at Port Authority until his retirement in 2002. Gerry and Jan spent many winters in Palm Springs. Gerry loved his family dearly and he had dear times with the grandchildren in the family pool. He also loved the casinos.
Gerry’s family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Alan Fraser, the doctors and nurses in WCGH and Nanaimo Hospital Cancer Clinic. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude to the Port Alberni Community Health Services nurses Margaret and Colleen; as well as Chris, the nurses, aides, volunteers and staff of Ty Watson House. We could not have got through this difficult time without them.
