Dad immigrated from Holland with his parents and siblings in 1953. He worked for the plywood plant until it's closing in 1993, at which time he chose to retire at the age of 54.
Dad had many passions throughout his life. Riding his Harleys with his friends, working on cars, raising canaries and tinkering with vintage cars. He loved his little dogs and his parrot of over 30 years, Butch.
One thing that always held fast and true to Dad was music. He had a special talent of playing the "mouth organ", also known as a harmonica, and could play it right to the very end. Dad struggled with dementia and found peace when playing his harmonica.
Dad could light up a room just by walking into it, he was a born entertainer. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a service held on October 13, 2021 at 11:00am at Chapel of Memories, 4005 6th Ave, Port Alberni, BC. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
