Gilbert passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 following a brief bought with cancer.Predeceased by his parents Hanny and Gerhard Dorn. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, and her daughters, Jaime Taylor and Jody Bethell. As well as his sons, Gilbert Jr. "Pudge", Kevin and Darren. He also left behind his grandchildren, one sister Judy Richmond, and one brother Howie Dorn.Gilbert worked as a shovel operator for over forty years in the logging industry. Gilbert enjoyed time fishing, camping and with his dogs. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the Alberni Valley Search and Rescue Hall, 4790 Tebo Ave., Port Alberni. Cremation has taken place.
