Harold Luke Doucette

October 3, 1936May 4, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Harold Doucette at the age of 83. He passed away peacefully at West Coast General Hospital surrounded by family on Monday May 4th, 2020. Harold was predeceased by: his parents Ernie and Jean, his daughter Vicki, sister Florence, brothers Russell, Donald and Raymond. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Dixie; son Larry (Nancy); daughter Gina (Mike); sister Faye Domovich; brothers Paul (Mickey), Lloyd (Wendy) and Wayne (Sherryll); grandchildren Shawn (Ashley), Corey (Breanne), Tamra (Evan) and Nicole (Brad); great grandchildren Maddex, Ryder and Aria; dear old friend Weinsy; his canine sidekick Maggie; as well as many more nieces, nephews and friends.

Harold was born on October 3, 1936 in Bodman, Saskatchewan. He moved to Port Alberni at the age of 4 with his family and never left. He married his childhood sweetheart Dixie and had three wonderful children. He worked at Toms Brothers Trucking for 13 years before taking over the company in June of 1973. He was well known for his hard work running the successful company until 2002 when he retired. He enjoyed fishing down the canal, golfing and spending quality time with his family and friends. He especially loved the time he spent with his great grandchildren.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that have taken such great care of Harold over the years. A special thanks to the paramedics, nurses and Dr. Pineau at WCGH.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Thank you to family and friends for all their love, support and kind words. Harold will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
