Harold is survived by his three sons and their wives, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, two brothers, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends – a large boisterous “family” that was the light of his life.
Born in February 1933 at his parents’ farm in Saskatchewan, Harold grew up playing hockey, and working with his dad as a carpenter. He met and married his Jenny (Janet) in the late 50’s, and is back together with her now. He left a legacy through his work (he helped build the bank of Canada building in Vancouver), and he will be desperately missed.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 1st at Greenwood Cemetery, 5360 Josephine Street, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm at the Alberni Golf Club. Come celebrate, remember, and honour a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 3030 3rd Avenue, Port Alberni, BC, V9Y 2A5. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
