

Born in Victoria, BC on September 28, 1921 to James M. & Adelaide M. (McGregor) Edwards. Jim was predeceased by his parents, infant brother Thomas W. Edwards and eldest son Thomas W. “Tom” Edwards.
He is survived by May, his loving wife of 65 years, his children Allen (Hannele) of Naramata, BC, Jill (Dewey) of Troncones, Mexico, James (Barbara) of Seattle, WA, daughter-in-law Sandra of Port Alberni, BC and grandchildren Jarrod, Joshua, Michelle and Kyle Edwards.
Jim spent most of his working life in the shipbuilding industry interspersed with stints of active service in the Royal Canadian Navy.
He started off as a loftsman at the Victoria Machinery Depot in 1939, and wore many different hats over the course of his career. In the 1960’s he, May and their younger children emigrated to the US where he worked for Lockheed Shipbuilding, and Marco Shipyard in Seattle, and Nassco Shipyard in San Diego.
Upon retirement Jim & May returned to Vancouver Island and became snowbirds, spending many winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Jim was an avid sailor who enjoyed racing small boats and cruising the waters of the Pacific Northwest, always with May at his side. Together they traveled thousands of miles by motorcycle and RV throughout the US and Canada.
Not only was Jim a multi-talented tradesman, he was an excellent dancer and a natural musician. He will be remembered for his integrity, quick wit and formidable personality. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
