She is survived by her husband Robert; children: Bobby, Susan (Ross), Danny, Steve, Joni (Bob), Sharon, Ron, Robbie and her daughter Judy (who only survived her by 8 hours). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous other extended family.

Joan was a longtime volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society and in lieu of flowers, requested that donations in her memory be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o 3030B 3rd Avenue, Port Alberni, V9Y 2A5.
