

Predeceased by his parents Edward and Ella, and sister Mavis Burgess, Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce; son, Steven (Marleen); daughter, Barbara (Perry) Witte; beloved grand-daughters, Lindsay (Jim) Sexton and Courtnay (Dave Sparrow); brothers, Peter in England and Wally in Ontario as well as other family members in Canada and the UK.
Jack was an aircraft instrument mechanic in the Royal Navy and worked as a toolsetter and draftsman in Manchester prior to emigrating to Canada with Joyce and son Steven in 1953. Jack continued his career in Edmonton, AB becoming Chief Draftsman, Estimator and later Project Manager in the oil and steel Industries. He retired from MacMillan Bloedel in Port Alberni in 1988. Jack was an accomplished keyboard player and took great pleasure in entertaining the residents of various Port Alberni care homes. Other hobbies included photography and computers. He also enjoyed many happy days hiking, cycling, camping with the family and loved his golf since the first years in Canada.
