Born in Wolverhampton, UK on December 26, 1935 died November 26, 2022 at Rainbow Gardens in Port Alberni, BC.
Before her very recent move to Port Alberni, Joyce was a resident at Sandringham Care Centre in Victoria for over five years. There, she was given great care and friendship. In 1956 Joyce immigrated from Manchester, UK to Victoria, BC, where she remained, except for a short time when she emigrated, with her children, back to Manchester, UK. After returning to Victoria, Joyce became a long-term employee of the BC government’s Superannuation Branch. She took early retirement at age sixty. Joyce loved animals and a good laugh.
Joyce is survived by daughters: Karen Rousseau (Leo) and Tanis Marshall; grandchildren: Hannah Rousseau and Zachary Rousseau; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends both in Canada, the UK and the USA.
No service as requested. Joyce’s ashes will be placed into a niche at Royal Oak Burial Park in early 2023 with family in attendance.
Cards and flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada could be made in Joyce’s name.
