Lilliane was born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, moving to Port Alberni with her family as a child. She was married 63 years to Heinz, with three children, Clifford, Lisa, Tim (Rachel); and 2 grandchildren, Avery (Ajia) and Emily. Predeceased by her parents and sister’s Lina and Simone; survived by her brother, Claude, & sister, Murielle (Andre).
In a time when learning disabilities had no diagnosis, Lilliane struggled in school. The ability to read and write seemed beyond her ability. However, as a new mother, she began studying the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was grateful for their kindness & patience as she learned to read & write, along with learning about God’s name, Jehovah. It had a huge impact on her entire life.
Lilliane’s greatest joys were being a mother, caregiver, and baker. As a caregiver, she self-sacrificed her time and energy to help others with so much patience. She learned the art of the multi-layered Buttercream Cake from her mother-in-law, which was often requested at special gatherings. Happiest in the kitchen, we could often hear her contentedly humming to herself as she baked. Her hospitality was remarkable and was always ready with a sweet treat.
Alzheimer’s never took away her humor and determination. Even in the dark days of her illness, there were so many bright moments that made us laugh. We miss her deeply but also share the same confidence in the bible’s hope for the earth and for those that have passed away.
She is safe in Jehovah’s memory until we reunite again.
