

Predeceased by his parents Karl & Eva Zimmerman; brothers: Karl, Adam, Emil & Bill; sisters: Pauline, Zena, Lena, Martha & Rose. Louie is survived by his beloved wife Frances; son David (Lois); daughters: Tereen Roxburgh (Michael), Teresa Armich (Tom), Diane Brazzale (Andre), Sandy Ranger (Dave) and Lisa Tremblay (Mario); one brother Carl; sisters: Ida Pataky and Freda Kulman as well as 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Louie served his country with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Regiment from 1943 until 1946. His regiment was involved in the liberation of Holland and spent several months in Germany during World War II. He worked for 32 years for MacMillan Bloedel in a variety of positions including, tree topper, log truck and low-bed driver and fire warden. He was also a long time resident of Franklin River, from 1957 until moving his family to Port Alberni in 1983. Louie was also a longtime and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Royal Canadian Legion Br 293, 4680 Victoria Quay. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery’s Field of Honour.
