To the Booker family
My condolences to all the family.
Mary was a very special woman. When I was a new nurse, she was such a role model...kind, caring, smart and her humour got us through lots of afternoon shifts!!! We all have such good memories
Sincerely,
Lynn Burnip

I have known Mary for over 30 years through our kids love of dance and years spent at Tania's dance studio. Whenever I think of Mary I remember how she always had a kind word for all the dancers. When they were stars - when they faltered - she always had something caring and positive to say to them. RIP Mary.

Dear Frketich/Booker Families,

I am so sorry and sad to see that Mary has passed away. I have so many fond memories of the Frketich family when growing up/living in Port Alberni. Because of a six year age difference, I wasn't around Mary very often but the strength of her wonderful, pleasant personality shone whenever I talked to her.

This picture of her graduating as a RN from St. Joseph's Hospital is
beautiful. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to give her a hug and talk to her at our Smith Memorial School Reunion in 2006.

Rest in peace, dear Mary.

Deepest Sympathy to all Mary's family.

I met Mary through the WCGH Foundation when I was started working at the hospital. Her warmth, humour, common sense approach and long term volunteer service to the hospital as a board member was so valued. She was a wonderful woman and we developed a bond over our shared love of nursing and our commitment, in different ways, to the care of patients. Mary will be deeply missed.

I didn’t know Mary long but her beautiful Spirit shone through. She was such a wonderful member of St Vincent De Paul and she shared her caring and loving Spirit when people needed it the most! Rest In Peace Mary, I am so grateful I got to know you.
