Robert leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate Claire, his mother June Nixon, sister Caroline Dudley (Anthony), nephews Adam and Scott and niece Sophie, his four legged son Denny as well as aunts, uncles and numerous other relatives and friends. Robert was predeceased by his father Jack.
A former Chief Petty Officer and 24 year serviceman of the Royal Navy, Robert and his wife immigrated to Canada and settled in Port Alberni. Robert worked as a engineer and production manager for Seamor Marine in Nanaimo.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August9, 2011 at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005-6th Avenue with cremation to follow.
