Satpal Singh Narang, aged 76, passed away in Port Alberni on December 02, 2021, after his two-year battle with cancer.
Satpal was born in Talwandi Bhai, India in 1945 to Bir Singh and Lajwanti Kaur Narang. He moved to Canada in 1955 with his family and laid down roots in Port Alberni, BC. Satpal was a resilient man. He became the head of his household after losing his father at a young age, and he left school to begin his career at the Sawmill so he could provide for his family. He married his wife, Raj, in 1973 and together they created a large and loving family. Satpal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and provider who took pride in working hard to give his family a better life than he had. He retired in 2005, proud of his accomplishments and the impression he left with his coworkers at the Mill. He will be remembered by us all as a force to be reckoned with.
Satpal is survived by: his wife, Raj; his children, Bhupinder Narang (Manju Narang), Sarbjit Monga (Ramesh Monga), Harpreet Nagra (Michael Nagra), and Mandeep Rahiman (Shayne Rahiman); his brother, Darshen; and his grandchildren, Aneesha, Rohit, Reyanna, Manbir, and Sukhbir. He is predeceased by his daughter, Prubjit Narang, and his parents, Bir Singh and Lajwanti Kaur Narang.
Satpal will be remembered as someone who was always true to himself. He was generous, selfless, stubborn, and loved his family beyond measure. He will always be in our hearts and will live through the legacy his children and grandchildren leave on his behalf.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on December 11th at 11:00am at the Chapel of Memories (4005 6th Ave Port Alberni, B.C.), followed by the cremation on Saunders Road. A prayer service and lunch will follow at the Alberni Valley Gurdwara (4741 Montrose Street).
