OBITUARY
Sean Bruce Arnold
March 24, 1968 – March 28, 2011
It is with disbelief and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Sean on March 28th, 2011 at the age of 43. Sean was predeceased by his Nana, Kitty Cawthorne; Grandma, Stella Arnold; and step-brother Shane Hartmann. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Diana (Otto) Hartmann; father, Peter Arnold; sisters: Kristi (Brad) Bunt and Kathy (Jamie) Ralston; nieces: Jenn John, Katie Bunt, and Emilie Bunt; nephew Kyle Ralston; step-sisters: Sonya Gibeau, Lydia Hartmann and Laura (Ted) Altenhofen; grandparents, Bruce and Madi Arnold; Aunt Judy (Steve) Vatamaniuck; Uncles Robert Arnold, John (Linda) Arnold and Mike Arnold, partner Jenni Vanttinen as well as numerous cousins and many friends. Sean was born in Sidney, BC on March 24th, 1968. He spent most of his childhood in California and Newfoundland before moving to Port Alberni in 1980. Most of his adult life was spent in Nanaimo and Port Alberni. Sean's passion for cooking and baking began when he was a child, continued into adulthood and became his career of choice for much of his life. He was very creative in the kitchen and enjoyed baking and cooking for his family and friends. Sean was gifted in math and enjoyed anything math related. He enjoyed playing chess and played regularly online with his Uncle Robert. He also enjoyed watching Canucks games, reading science fiction, spoiling the family pets and spending time with loved ones. He loved hanging out at his sister's place at Sproat Lake in the summer. Sean was a very gentle, loving and devoted son, grandson, brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. He will be sorely missed. There will be a celebration of Sean's life at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 3rd at the Alberni Valley United Church Hall, 3747 Church Street, Port Alberni. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sean's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 222 Queen St., Suite 1402, Ottawa Ont., K1P5V9 or to the SPCA, 4936 Broughton St., Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 7L9

Words cannot express the sadness I feel for Sean's family. When I think of Sean, one memory that comes to mind is when he used to work at the Galaxy pizza place as a cook. One night, Kristi and her family were in Port Alberni staying with me and we decided to order a pizza for dinner. Naturally we chose the Galaxy and Sean made our pizza for us. It was very good.. until.. we got to the special spicy part he added just for us. Yikes.. I think we must have drank a gallon of water each after that..A phonecall later to the Galaxy and we all heard Sean's terrific laughter. Rest in Peace Sean. So many people love you..
