Born in New Westminster, mom married and moved to Port Alberni in 1946 where she raised her family and worked most of her life. She worked at Homewoods, Woodwards and Zellers as cashier and also spent numerous years volunteering at the West Coast General Hospital Auxiliary. Where she was president, treasurer and coordinator of the volunteers.
Her family meant everything to her and were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Her famous quote was “take some with you.” She enjoyed knitting (especially baby sweaters), crocheting and making doilies which she donated to the West Coast General Hospital Gift Shop.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Lall, her father, mother, brother, 2 sisters and son-in-law.
She leaves behind her daughter Sita, sons Darshan (Debbie), Dave (Karen), Larry (Dianne). Her grandchildren Asha, Rina, Vincent (Renee), Samantha (Chris), Barry (Michelle), and Matthew. Great grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Jonathan, David and Piper along with multiple fur babies over the years.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. David Johnson, Dr Woodley and all the nurses and care aids for their continuous support and keeping her comfortable in her last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Coast General Hospital Auxiliary or Ty Watson House.
There will be no formal service at this time.
