Predeceased by his mother Fritzi and father Georg, he lives on through his brother David and sister-in law Jenny, niece Jessica, and nephew Martin.
Sid had an unmistakable energy that he proudly owned. Anyone fortunate enough to have known him will always remember his trademark hugs, giggles, generosity, and enthusiasm for living life to its fullest. Having grown up travelling on a sailboat; moving to Port Alberni; starting and maintaining businesses such as Schmidt Bobcat & Trucking Ltd; travelling near and far on his boats and motorcycles; always updating and expanding his beautiful gardens; partying with his friends; proudly sharing whatever project he had going at that moment; and so much more… He will always be the most ‘proper’ guy in our hearts and minds.
A date for a Celebration of Life will be determined in the coming weeks.
