

Predeceased by her husband, Harold, and brother, Percy; Violet is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy and Amber; grandchildren Benson (Hannah), Charlotte (Brandon), Aleadra, Hunter, and Quannah; great-granddaughter Sophia; honourary grandchildren Oshea and Shayleen; brothers James (Rose), Claude (Daphne), Lawrence, and Michael (Judy); sisters Jean, Patricia (Don), and Bonnie (Samael); as well numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and “Twisted Sister” Patricia O’Donnell.
Violet loved her community and always was involved. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Port Alberni Friendship Centre; of which she was also on the Board of Directors for over twenty years. She loved being there and everyone she worked with became her family. She was also involved with the United Native Nations, and helped with the fundraising to build the Rainbow Gardens facility. She was also a member of the Rainbow Gardens Auxiliary and the USMA Grandparent Program. Violet was a very forgiving person and maintained her sense of humour until the end. Although she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, her family is grateful Violet is no longer in pain and reunited with the love of her life, Harold.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Violet’s memory to the Friendship Centre Cultural Camp.
