Vito Antonio was born in Triggiano, Italy on February 10, 1940, to parents Giuseppe Indelicato and Rosa Longano. Tonino, as he was known in his family, devoted his life to his wife, three children and two granddaughters.
He moved to Port Alberni at the age of 25 in 1965. He married Francesca Di Mauro, in Capurso, Italy on December 12, 1977, and they had three children. Tony could have been called a jack of all trades as he was very good with his hands and if he didn’t know how to do something would try to teach himself how before asking for help. He loved to travel and was very proud of his Italian heritage taking his whole family to Italy twice and went many more times with his wife, Franca. Tony was a member of the Italian Canadian Fraternal Society, and he enjoyed playing bocce, cards, socializing, and was an avid soccer fan. He was most recently blessed with two granddaughters, who brought him much joy.
Tony is predeceased by his younger sister Giuseppina, who died last year.
Tony is survived by his loving family; his wife Franca; son, Giuseppe; daughters, Ileana (Shayne) and Stefania; granddaughters Jocelyn and Delilah; sisters Pia DeMarzo, and Maria Bonavina. And numerous other family members around the world, in Italy, the US and South America.
Prayers for Tony will be held at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home on November 3, 2022, at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Holy Family Notre Dame Catholic Parish, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni on November 4, 2022, at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow.
