Predeceased by infant daughter, Susan and brother Tom; Walter is survived by loving wife Georgina; children, Evelyn (Ray), Donna, Dianne, Barbara-Jo and Glenn; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother Lynn (Eva).
In 1962 the family came to Port Alberni. Walt worked with Harold Warren to bring cablevision to the Valley. Walt was a man who was very active in the community and had a variety of interests. In his younger years he was an avid hiker, Ham radio operator – VE7XK, taught Morris code, coached minor hockey teams and lacrosse and was a long standing OddFellows member who held many positions through the organization. His passion for gliding was the reason behind him being one of the founding members of the P.A. Gliding Association. He was also a devoted BC Lions fan. Although he had many interests, Walt had many loves – his wife and family, his Indian Motorcycle, flying, badminton, camping and traveling. Walter passed away just prior to their 65th wedding anniversary.
