Will passed away from our arms to the safe and loving arms of Jesus on February 6, 2018 surrounded by those who loved and cared for him. He is survived by his parents, Lynn & Rob Turner, siblings, Paula, Robin (Bob) Laura (Luke) nephews and nieces Chaz (Shayla) Casey (Quinton) Jordyn (Devon) Jesse, Dayton and Brody, great nieces, Paisley, Charlie, Elena, great nephew, Barrett.
Words cannot express our gratitude to all of Will’s caregivers both past and present who became so much more than Will’s care team, but also a part of our family. Most especially to Will’s angel Edda, and his best friends Ben, Melanie, Kerri, Kayla, Colleen and Sandi. Our heartfelt appreciation also to Dr. Freddie Meyer, Kathy Sevigny, Marilyn Johnson, Lenore Bailey and the HSCL team, Community Living BC, Cecile Petra and the Crime Victim Assistance Program. The journey has been a long one and we could not have made it without their gifts of care and assistance for our boy.
A Child Of Mine
I will lend you, for a little time,
A child of mine, He said.
For you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years,
Or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labour vain.
Nor hate me when I come
To take him home again?
'Dear Lord, Thy will be done!'
For all the joys Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we've planned.
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.
