Ada Hinda Alpern, 75, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away July 21, 2017. She was born May 22, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL. Ada Hinda grew up in a loving, jewish family. She completed the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to establish and run her husband's orthodontic/research practice for almost four decades, all while raising her three children. She was the quintessential working mom. She also was a dedicated member of the community, selflessly volunteering her time to many organizations.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dr Michael Alpern of Port Charlotte, FL; her three children Blythe, Mandi & Micah, her son-in-law Mark, her daughter-in-law Cassidy, her three grandchildren Berk, Ashlan, and Laudin, her sister Elka, and her dog Coda.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Monday July 24, 2017 at Temple Shalom, 23190 Utica Ave, Port Charlotte, FL 33980. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Mrs Alpern's memory to the Temple Shalom in support of the Adult Jewish Education program or the Colon Cancer Alliance (www.ccalliance.org).
