Alan Frederick Hornagold, 78, passed away in Tidewell Hospice on Mon. Oct. 28, 2013, after suffering from colon cancer for two and a half years. He was born to Hilda Mae and Archibald Frederick Hornagold in Norwich Norfolk, England on April 3, 1935. The family came over from England on The Queen Mary to the United States Oct. 1951. They then moved to Janesville, WI. Alan served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and learned a trade in the electrical field.
Alan is survived by his wife Shirley of 53 years. Also 3 daughters, Sheryl (Thomas) Lykins of OH, Sheila (Muhammad) Durrani of OH and Suzanne (William) Hanfelder of Englewood, FL, one son Stephen Alan Hornagold of OH, one brother Harry Hornagold of Sarasota, FL, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and 1 step great granddaughter.
Alan retired from General Motors in Ohio. He and his wife Shirley moved to Rotonda West, FL in 1998 from Bellbrook, OH. Alan loved Florida and grew beautiful orchids on his lanai. He and his wife loved to cruise every year.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, brother John and sister Joyce.
