
Arvid Reinke, age 82 of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday April 7, 2008, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. Arvid was born on July 15, 1925, in Hutchinson, MN. He was baptized, confirmed and attended parochial school at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, MN. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943, attended Dunwoody Institute and served in the United States Army. Arvid married Roasanna Miller in 1947.
Arvid began his career as a sheet metal tradesman and in 1959 started his own business, today known as Custom Products of Litchfield, a leading manufacturer of cabs and roll bars for off-highway equipment. He was active in the Litchfield JayCees, served on the Litchfild Norwest Bank board of directors and a longtime Mason and Shriner.
Arvid enjoyed many weekends hunting and fishing near their cabin in Blackduck, MN as well as leisure time at their lake home on Lake Koronis. In 1989 he and Rosanna found their favorite winter destination in Punta Gorda, FL, spending winters there ever since.
Arvid is survived by Rosanna, his loving wife of 60 years, son Randy and friend Kevin Hanstad of Minnetonka, MN, sister Mildred Hilmer Soder of Litchfield, brother-in-law Bud Darlene Miller of Litchfield, and John Linda Miller of Punta Gorda, FL. Arvid was a beloved uncle to eleven nieces and nephews as well as fifteen grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Elsie Bach Reinke of rural Litchfield, son Ricky and daughter Rhonda.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on April 16, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funreal services will be at 11:00 AM on April 17, at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
