Betty was an active member for over 25 years with the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 98 in Punta Gorda. She was also a member of the Charlotte Bay Chapter of the D.A.R, the Isles Yacht Club and the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Assoc. She enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, William Strobel of Punta Gorda, FL; children, Sharon Kipfer of Antigo, WI, Catherine TJ Studnicki of Commerce Twp, MI and Robert B. Raeann Mooney of Farmington Hills, MI; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her sister, Carol Noel of Punta Gorda, FL. She was pre deceased by her first husband, Robert A. Mooney.
Visitation will be 10:00 am till 12 noon, Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. The Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Father Vincent Scotto officiating. Burial will be held at the White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, MI on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary, 2001 Shreve Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
