Calvin Moss, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away September 28, 2012, after a short illness. He was born June 12, 1926 in Richmond, VA. He and his family moved to Punta Gorda in 1928 and he never really left. He graduated from Charlotte High School, served in the Pacific Theater with the US Navy, and attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland. He married and returned to Punta Gorda to teach vocal music in the Charlotte County Public School System for 30 years. Mr. Moss inspired three generations of students with his love of music. He touched more lives through his work as a piano teacher, choir director, and performer at local events.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlina, daughters Elizabeth and Laura, and granddaughter Sarah.
