Carthel "Cart" F. Franklin, 95 of Venice, died May 10, 2016. He was born on August 26, 1920 in Rittman ,Ohio to the late Queen Dickerson Franklin and William Fred Franklin. Cart is survived by his loving wife NoVelle Doehrmann Franklin and daughter Catherine F. Franklin. He was the youngest of four children. He attended Purdue University but joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942.He began his career in real estate in Chicago. Cart was active in many organizations . He rebuilt and showed classic cars ,delivered meals on wheels for 13 years. He belonged to Boca Royal Country Club, Venice Golf & Country Club, Mission Valley Country Club, enjoyed worldwide traveling, reading, and bridge. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Doan Chapel at Englewood United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Tidewell Hospice of Venice.
