Celesta S. Walker, 91, died peacefully with her family by her side on February 27, 2015. Born November 7, 1923 to John and Anna Golling in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a 37 year resident of Harbor Cove, North Port, FL. Before retiring, Celesta worked 18 years as an Executive Assistant for the Industrial Development Commission in Livonia, MI. She was an active member of San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port and a member of the Harbor Cove Civic Association.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dick Walker of North Port, FL; children, Janet Jain of Pittsburgh, PA; Wilma Harris of Sarasota, FL; and Andrew Walker and his wife, Marie, of Fenton, MI; four grandchildren, David, Terri, Christopher, and Donna; four great-grandchildren, Johanna, Luke, Jaime, and Trinity; and one great-great-grandchild, Ryan.
Join us for The Rite of Christian Burial Mass to be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the San Pedro Catholic Church, 14380 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34287. Interment will be a private ceremony for the family at the Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making a donation in Celesta’s name to your local church or school.
