He moved to the Englewood area in 1984 from Dayton, Ohio after retiring from Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte, Rotonda West Elks Lodge #2710 and the American Legion Post #113 of Rotonda West.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Kathy Henry of Cooksville, Tennessee, Denise Gross of Brookville, Ohio, Steven Hinton of Newnan, Georgia, Jean Bayless of Sodus, New York, Richard Edelmann of Sodus, New York and his brother, Mick Hinton of Columbus, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday March 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church.
