Services will be private, with burial at sea. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Venice Chapel is handling arrangements.
Survivors include wife Debbie Sterling, son Philip of Venice, daughter Diane of Cinncinnati, OH, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Mr. Sokolow moved to Venice in 1982 from Woodbridge, NJ, where he retired as a police officer. Among his many memberships, Mr. Sokolow belonged to the American Legion in Venice and the Englewood Elks Lodge. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
