Cornelius George Ridgewell

Cornelius George Ridgewell 86, passed away on March 13, 2016 at TideWell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on June 1, 1929 in Providence, RI to Norman A. Ridgewell and Mary Gertrude Harrington. He came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Warwick, RI in 1999. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars located in Charlotte Harbor, serving in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. He was a member of the Elks, the Veterans Motor Car Club, a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a Volunteer at Fawcett Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Meredith of 60 years of Port Charlotte, Florida; his brother, John (Lillian) Ridgewell of Providence, RI also 1 nephew and 3 nieces.

Visitation Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. Services will follow at St. James Episcopal Church at 1:00 P.M. 1365 Viscaya Drive. Port Charlotte, Florida. Officiated by Rev. Cesar Olivero. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Military Honors at Sarasota National Cemetery 9310 State Road 72. Sarasota, Florida 342 41
