

David Witt, 66, of Venice, FL passed away May 27, 2014. He was born January 9, 1948 in Baltimore, MD and was a 1966 graduate of Mount St Joseph High School in Catonsville, MD. He was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. David spent 34 years working for the Federal Government, specifically SSA and CMS. He enjoyed golf, bowling, woodworking and travelling. Until an injury set him back, he refereed high school basketball. David is a former member of the Knights of Columbus, a current member of the Elks Lodge in Ocean City, MD and a lifetime member of the Ocean Pines Golf Club. The Witt's moved to Venice, FL in 2011 and still maintain a vacation home in Ocean Pines, MD. David enjoyed the snowbird life. He lived life large, was known for his keen wit, sense of humor and creativity. He was always the life of the party. The friends he accumulated throughout his life journey will never forget his sparkling blue eyes, his laugh, his crazy antics.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara Witt and his daughter Jennifer (Shawn) Wilson; grandchildren Patrick and Emily Wilson and Ryan Witt as well as his aunt, Margaret P. Murphy; step-sons Christopher Grove and his wife, Ivanka Ska and Jeffrey Grove and grandson, Triston Grove. He was predeceased by his father, David Witt II, mother, Mary Witt, and son, David Witt IV.
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the American Cancer Society.
