Dean N. Grove, Sr., 91 of Englewood, Florida died January 5, 2008. He was born October 15, 1916 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Homer and Martha Notestine Grove.

He moved to the Englewood area 28 years ago from Winter Park, Florida. He was a retired Teacher after 33 years from Winter Park High School and other Florida Public Schools. He also coached various high school sports. He was the founder and owner of Camp Heronwood on Lake Howell of Winter Park, Florida.

He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Englewood, the Elks Lodge of Englewood and Winter Park and the Rotary Club of Winter Park. He was an avid golfer and a member of Rotonda Golf and Country Club in Englewood and Rolling Hills Golf Club of Longwood, Florida. He was a graduate from the University of North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary F. Grove of Englewood; his daughter, Marty Gary Slonaker of Westcliffe, Colorado; his brother, Fred Grove of Vero Beach, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Clinton D. Boyd of Atlanta, Georgia and Marnie Williams of Apopka, Florida and 6 great grandchildren. He predeceased by his son, Dean N. Grove, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with the funeral service to follow at the Community Presbyterian Church of Englewood. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park of Winter Park, Florida.
