Diana Bernard, 61, of Port Charlotte, FL died peacefully at home on September 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Diana was born in Queens, NY on December 1, 1948 and lived in Long Island NY for approximately 40 years where she was in the nursing field. She moved to Florida in 1990 and was previously employed at St. Joe's Hospital (now Peace River), also as a nurse, where she took an early retirement. Diana is survived by her beloved husband Albert LeGrand and two loving sons, Louis Stephens Jr., 33; Dylan Stephens, 31 along with their father, Louis Stephens Sr. She is also survived by 5 loving step-children: Michael LeGrand, 33; Joshua LeGrand, 30; Sarah LeGrand, 27; Ashley LeGrand, 25: and Cindy LeGrand, 23. Diana also left 3 siblings behind: Christopher Almenas, Edward Hook and Laura Truman. Diana will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. She was a wonderful person who lived life to the fullest and expected and encouraged everyone around her to do the same. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7:00pm at First Alliance Church in Port Charlotte. All are welcome to attend.
