

Don Frye, 75, lived in Port Charlotte, FL. Don was born on January 4th, 1950 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Jeanette Karako Frye & Harden Lee Frye. He passed away on November 25th, 2025 of Cardiac Arrest at the dialysis center in Port Charlotte.
Don attended Holy Angels School in Portsmouth through the 8th grade and graduated Cradock High school in 1968. Following his graduation he was accepted to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard apprentice program. Don continued to work at the shipyard after graduation as a civil servant with the Dept. of the Navy Public Works program until 1999. After 30 years as an instrumentation mechanic and electrician he retired on disability due to End Stage Renal Disease. In 2000 he and his wife, moved to Port Charlotte, FL.
He was blessed with a Kidney transplant at age 51 (2001) which opened a door that enabled him to travel the world with his wife Becky. He enjoyed cruising and road trips across the USA, Asia, Europe, Canada, and The Caribbean Islands. Many memories were made during these trips with friends, neighbors and Becky, the love of his life.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha (Becky) Frye, his two sons Brian Frye and Danny Frye, as well as his brothers Dave Frye and Gary (Melodie) Frye, two nephews Steven (Pam) Frye and Timmy (Jen) Frye. Other survivors include his Aunt Anna-Dean Frye, cousins, and great nieces & nephews.
His service will be Tuesday, December 16th at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home. Address is 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte. Visitation will begin at 11 followed by a Service of Remembrance.
