Donald J. Shanley, 58, of Englewood, Florida died September 26, 2008. He was born September 19, 1950 in Lowell, Massachusetts to William and Effie Goodwin Shanley.
He moved to the Englewood area 3 years ago from Northport, Maine. He was a member of the American Nurses Association and he was a U.S. Naval veteran.
He was a Registered Nurse for Prison Health Services of Charlotte County and worked in Emergency Rooms for 30 years in many areas of the country.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Anne P. Shanley of Englewood; his daughters, Sarah Shanley of Venice, Florida and Jennifer Shanley of Englewood, Florida; his brothers, William and James Shanley both of Conroe, Texas and his sister, Patricia Roundtree of Tempe, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel.
