Donata Bedosky was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 86.
The daughter of the late Dominick and Margaret Colucci, she was born on May 21, 1939, in Stamford, CT. As a child, Donata spent much time with her brother and was surrounded by her cousins, as family was everything. Donata attended Mother of God Academy High School in Stamford, CT. Donata met the love of her life, Larry, and the two were married in 1958. Upon Larry being drafted, they moved to France for a year. Then, in 1972, they moved to Middletown, NY and raised 3 children together. While the children were young, Donata took on part-time work as a banquet waitress, childcare aide, and as a sales rep for Stanley Home Products. This allowed her to have the time to be a stay-at-home mother to raise her children. As the children got older, Donata worked full-time in an elementary school as a cafeteria aide and eventually retired alongside Larry.
Donata’s devotion to her neighborhood community was evident as she held a Trim the Tree party each year, organized hayrides during Halloween, and caroling during Christmas. But she will always be known for hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt for 40 years!
Donata loved to be active. She was a member of both golf and bowling leagues. She played tennis often, skied in the Winter, square danced, played cards, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Donata was also very active in her church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and on the Alter Guild for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Middletown for years. When she moved to Florida, she became a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
Larry and Donata were Florida snowbirds, allowing time to spend with their children and grandchildren. After Larry’s passing, Donata made North Port, FL her permanent residence.
As much as Donata valued her family, she cherished her friendships, including the friends she had at Lorelei Lake Estates, Coco Plum, and The Gallery. She was loved by all for her caring nature and her spunk.
Donata is survived by her sons, Larry(Lisa) Bedosky, and David (Tammy) Bedosky, and daughter, Margaret Novello, brother, Dominick (Harriet) Colucci, 8 grandchildren, Domenique (Ryan)Martini, Nicole (Chris)DeAngelis, Alex (Nicole) Bedosky, Marielle (Michael) Bedosky , Julia Bedosky, Nicolas Novello, Dominick Novello and Sophia Novello, and 6 great grandchildren, Amelia, Carter, Dahlia, Stella, Cameron, and James, many family members, and great friends.
