Dorothy B. Matthews, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Port Charlotte. Dorothy was born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late John and Mary Voytko. Dorothy was a devout member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte having been a member of the choir for many years. She enjoyed working with others who were sick and homebound helping any way she could. She also loved children and all the joy the schoolchildren at Saint Charles School brought to her.
Dorothy is survived by two sons and two daughters, Howard Matthews and wife Charlene of Port Charlotte, Cindy Flynn and husband John of Lima, OH, Sherri Weaver and husband Bill of Corpus Christie, TX and Mark Matthews of New Port Richie, FL; six grandchildren, Brad, Scott, Holly, Erinn, Kevin and Nickolas. Five great-grandchildren, many other nieces and nephews and friends also survive.
Services are entrusted to Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
