With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dustin Thomas Koontz on October 21, 2026, at the age of 37.
Dustin was born on October 22, 1988 in Port Charlotte, Florida, the son of Carla ( Steele) Koontz and Thomas Joseph Koontz.
Dustin was the life of the party; he was liked by everyone who knew him. Dustin was a huge movie buff, he loved the outdoors, like camping, canoeing and hiking. He loved to travel as he was always up for a new adventure. His friends considered him the best dungeon master when they got together to play Dungeons and Dragons.
Dustin spent his adult life in the service industry as a waiter & bartender.
He is survived by his daughter, Arabella Koontz, his father, Thomas J Koontz ,his mother, Carla Koontz, brother Tim Koontz and sister Alicia Koontz and half-sister Rachel Cornell, Aunts,Gail Palumbo and Barbara Reed, Uncles, James Koontz and William Koontz, along with many cousins and a tremendous amount of friends.
Dustin's Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Kays, Ponger & Uselton Punta Gorda Chapel, 635 E Marion Avenue Punta Gorda, FL 33950 with A Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00 PM.
