

Edna Goff Taylor, 93, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away December 12, 2017. She was born May 8, 1924 in Punta Gorda to William C. and Sarah Jane Goff and was a lifelong resident. Before retiring, she was an LPN for 16 years at Fawcett Hospital, where she truly enjoyed taking care of people. She started her career late in life because she was raising a family. She loved her family very much and always put them before herself, delighting in their accomplishments. Edna enjoyed spending time with friends and going out to dance with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Julius Robert (Kay) Midgett, Jr and Carolyn (Miles) Krotzer;
7 grandchildren; Mark O. Salter of Arcadia, Brian C. Salter of St Petersburg, Mandy Midgett Engblom of Clearwater, David Dunkin of Port Charlotte, Lisa Midgett Bercegeay of Louisiana, Lori Midgett and David Michael Midgett, Jr.; 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, a sister, Martha "Bette" Goff-Moore in TN, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
She was pre deceased by her husband, Julius Robert Midgett Sr, her second husband, James W. Taylor, her son David Michael Midgett as well as her parents and numerous siblings; Stacia Salter Rose, William Salter, Vannie Salter, Murphy Salter, Mable Salter, Myrtle Goff Johnson, Lela Goff Potter and Virgil Goff.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am till 11:30 am Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am, Monday at the funeral home with burial at Indian Springs Cemetery.
