Edward Karl Lange

Growing up on the Rhode Island coast, Ed developed a love for the ocean and after serving in the Korean War, Ed returned to his home-state where he met his wife, Joan, on the beach.

Ed married Joan on August 1, 1953 in Woodhaven, NY and they had two children; Edward III and Doreen (Lange) Shortt together. They raised their children in Newtown, Connecticut, before returning to North Kingstown, Rhode Island in retirement. Ed and Joan enjoyed many years in retirement in Rhode Island before relocating to Englewood, FL in 2004. An avid golfer, Ed enjoyed spending time on the course in the Florida sun and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Joan, son and daughter-in-law Edward and Lori Lange of New Milford, CT, his daughter Doreen (Lange) Shortt and her husband Terry Shortt of Englewood, FL, his grandchildren Zak, Kristen and Kimberly and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Irene (Lange) Spencer who passed away April 13, 2013.

There are no local services scheduled at this time. Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
