Elinor “Sandy” McGrath, 89, of North Port, FL passed away November 18, 2016. She was born November 16, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI and moved to this area in October 1978 from Mequon, WI. She worked as a cashier at Sentry Food Stores for many years. After her retirement, Elinor enjoyed living in a cottage along Big Stone Lake in Three Lakes, WI for four months in the summer and spent the other eight months in her North Port, FL home.
She is survived by her children, Maureen (Erwin) and Mark (Gail); daughter-in-law Diane; five grandchildren, Robert (Carol), Jason (Katie), Dan (Christine), Jeremy and Shannon (Dan) as well as nine and a half great-grandchildren, Clara, Zach, Josh, Tommy, Everett, Alorah, Ciarán, Jacob, Jordyn, and ‘Baby Boy.’ She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Thomas John in 2008 and two sons, Michael in 1990 and Martin in 2015.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Lakeside Lutheran Church, 2401 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293. A Graveside Service with interment is planned for this summer in Three Lakes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Grace Lutheran Church, 6948 E School St, Three Lakes, WI 54562.
