

Elmer graduated from McDowell High School and Gannon College and was an Electrical Contractor. He was President and CEO of Harman Electric Co. in Erie, PA. In 1981 he moved his family and his business to Englewood.
Elmer was a member of the Lakewood Methodist Church as well as the Zem Zem Shriners, the Masonic Lodge and an officer for many years in the Presque Isle Jaycees in Erie.
Upon moving to Florida he became a member of Englewood United Methodist Church and the Rotonda West Elks Lodge.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, James; daughters, Natalee (Philip) Stutzman, Remle (Bud) Treasure, Laura (Dave) Dignam and Melissa (Gene) Dove of Englewood and Port Charlotte. Brothers, Thomas (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ and David (Marilyn) of Erie, PA; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildern.
Elmer was a great family man who loved Babies, Dogs and his beloved North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountians and golfing.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. with a Celebration of Life service starting at 6:30 P.M. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood. Entombment will be private at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.
