Mimi was born in New Haven, CT to Anthony & Mary Papa on December 26, 1942.
She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1960, went to business school and earned a certification in data processing.
She worked for many years for the State of Connecticut OTB until her retirement, and moved to Port Charlotte, FL to live the rest of her years.
Mimi is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cornel Dolana, of Port Charlotte, FL. Her son Cornel Dolana, Jr. (Cindi) of Clinton, CT, her 2 daughters Michelle Romanella of Wallingford, CT, Danielle Pierpont of Branford, CT, 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Michael, Nicole, Patrick, Ashley & Nicole, her cousin Carol Abbatello, sister in law Maryann Papa and many nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Thomas Papa.
Mimi was an avid collector of many things from beanie babies to Disney collectibles and everything in between. She loved going from store to store in search of the “limited edition”, hard to find items to add to her collection.
Mimi will always be remembered for her sense of humor, contagious laugh and always singing a song, but most of all, the love she had for her family.
A memorial service will be held in CT at a later date.
