Ethel "Inez" Jones, 90, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away January 30, 2010. She was born October 15, 1919 in Rome, GA and lived most her life here in Punta Gorda. Before retiring in the early 70's, Inez worked for Ed Hendrickson's Gulf Shores Seafood. She was an active member of the Church of God in Punta Gorda and a current member of the Ft Ogden Church of God.
She is survived by her children; Oscar Nannie Jones; Walter Shelby Jones, Jewel Newell all of Punta Gorda and Louise Gary Simes of Ft Ogden, FL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as other extended family and friends. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Clarence Jones in 1978 and her daughters, Betty Nottingham in 1987 and Ruby Fewell in 2009.
The Visitation will be from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
