Florence K. Bishop

She was born Nov. 26, 1915 in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Hatboro High School and the Philadelphia Business College. Florence moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1968. During her years there she was active in the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Associate and the Isles Yacht Club Islettes. She moved to South Port Square just prior to Hurricane Charley.

She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church and the DAR Charlotte Bay Chapter.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Freas, of Port Charlotte ,nephews, Dale Sponseller of Naples Florida, J. Nevin Sponseller of Evansville, Indiana and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bishop and sister, Elizabeth Sponseller.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, 21075 Quesada Ave, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church Music Fund or to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care,
