Frances Catherine Vickers

Frances (Fran) Catherine Vickers, 85, passed away on October 10, 2026, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in New York, New York, Fran was raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and later lived in Jacksonville, Florida, and Seaford, Delaware, before settling in North Port, Florida.

Fran shared fifty wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Charles Vickers. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and successful businesswoman who took great pride in her family and her work.

From 1972 to 2011, Fran owned and operated Fran’s Dairy Market, Inc., in Seaford, Delaware. For 39 years, she built lasting relationships with her customers, who knew her for her warm smile, kindness, and welcoming spirit.

Family was always at the heart of Fran’s life. She is survived by her husband, Charles; her children, Joseph Bay (Selena) and their 4 children, Deanna Bay, Chuck Vickers (Mary) and their 5 children, and Chad T. Vickers (Emily) and their child. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Natalie Covey, and is survived as well by Natalie’s 2 children. Fran also treasured her many great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Fran enjoyed traveling, was an avid boater, and had a special love for her beloved Chow companions over the years, Chu Chu, Boo, and finally Coco. Her strong Catholic faith was an important part of her life, guiding her with strength and comfort.

Fran will be remembered for her loving heart, strong work ethic, kindness, and the smile she shared so freely with everyone she met. Her love for her family, the friendships she built, and the memories she leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God’s love and the everlasting love of her family.
