Frank M. Rhodes, 80, of Punta Gorda, FL died March 31, 2007. He was born on September 3, 1926 to Walter Lee and Ruth Aline Patrick Rhode in Punta Gorda and spent his entire life here. He was first cousin to the late historian, Byron Rhode. Frank was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy. He was a maintenance worker at the Charlotte County Courthouse for many years. He position was transferred to the Charlotte Auditorium and he worked there till his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Souls Harbor Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maxine Rhodes; daughter Francine Rhodes, both of Punta Gorda; his twin brother, Fred Margie Rhodes, nieces, Linda, Carol, Cindy and nephew Tommy, cousin Harvey and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond, Roy and Walter Lee Rhode.
The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm till the funeral service time of 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Indian Springs Cemetery.
