Frank J. Shannon Jr, 80, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away June 18, 2012 at his home. He was born April 30, 1932 in New York, NY to Frank and Annabelle Shannon. He retired as Vice President of Operations for Hecht Co. and moved to this area from Silver Spring, MD. Locally, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Punta Gorda Boat Club and the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his two sons, Frank (Sharon) Shannon III of Chevy Chase, MD and Michael (Tracey) Shannon of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Matthew, Hailey and Catherine; a sister, Pamela Shannon. He was pre deceased by his wife Judith on March 29, 2000 as well as his brother Grant and sister Patricia.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm, Monday June 25, 2012 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL. The Funeral Service will follow on Monday at 1:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Frank be made to the St Vincent DePaul Society at 25200 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
