On January 25, 2016, Frederick George McNab III died at age 67 surrounded by his family in Venice, FL after a heroic battle with cancer and infection. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick George McNab Jr. and Jean Douglas McNab. George was born on August 17, 1948 in Baltimore, MD and was a 1967 graduate of Parkville High School. He went on to graduate as a toolmaker from the Newport News Shipping and Dry Dock Apprentice School in 1972. In 1976, he founded and started MAC Machine Company Inc., which grew into a very successful and distinguished machine shop in the precision manufacturing industry. George lived in Maryland until 2014 and upon his retirement from MAC, moved to Englewood, FL permanently. He also maintained a home on Eleuthera in the Bahamas for many years and loved the island and its waters immensely. George had a lifelong love of fishing, especially deep sea, and one of his proudest achievements was winning the 1986 White Marlin Open by catching a 713-pound blue marlin upon his â€?"MAC III†Bertram. In addition to fishing aboard either of his â€?"Reel Machinesâ€, he loved traveling to exotic locations across the world, playing poker and Pétanque weekly, driving his restored 1963 Corvette Stingray, cooking fish on the grill, and spending time making memories with his grandchildren. Lastly, George would have wanted to politely persuade everyone to vote Republican come this November.
